  • We are always hiring excellent coaches for our students! This is an independent contractor role.

The role is flexible, allowing you to set your own hours and pick/choose the tutoring opportunities that best suit your skills and schedule. We need general academic coaches who are able to tutor on any subject matter, as well as specialized coaches who are able to teach specific subjects (e.g. Chemistry, English, Math).

Priority is given to coaches who can do local, in-person tutoring.

    ROLE

Our academic coaches support elementary, middle school and/or high school students in achieving their academic goals. As a coach, you will work with students in regular, one-on-one lessons either at their home, in one of our offices, a library, or at the student's school. The student may require subject-specific tutoring, more general support on their school coursework, and/or help with test prep. Most students also require some level of help developing their executive functioning skills (e.g. time management, working memory, concentration, organization).

As a candidate for this position, you must be passionate about teaching and learning. You must be able to adapt your teaching style to the needs of the individual student and help them discover the way they learn best. You will also need to be friendly, enthusiastic, patient, professional, and reliable.

Many of our students have unique learning differences, such as ADHD, anxiety, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. You should either have experience working with a neurodiverse student population or be willing to learn/train in this area in order to meet the needs of our students.

Most coaches will work on average 4-12 hours a week depending on the number of students they take on as well as the subjects they can coach.
